Feeling “guilty” after a meal is not healthy for the body nor the mind.
Most people are more and more health conscious nowadays. This is a good thing. There is a growth in the health and wellness industry, which uses advertising campaigns geared towards a healthy and active lifestyle.
How about a Calorie Count Menu? Our client, J.P. Morgan Chase, commissioned our in-house nutritionist to prepare a healthy choice of food selections for their cafeteria. In the Calorie Count Menu, our nutritionist computes how many calorie intake per dish is given to their employees. We prepare food that can fill them up, yet is rich in nutrients. Healthy employees means productivity and wellness.
Another client, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, has the same mindset in wanting to serve healthy food. In their cafeteria, you will see the name of the viand served, plus its calorie count. Bangko Sentral promotes a calorie count menu, good eating behavior and exercise activities.
I believe in the importance of serving a wide variety of nutritious food. However, portioning also matters. My suggestion is to eat ample portions of fresh fruits, non-starchy vegetables, whole grains, lean meat and low fat dairy.
The old adage is true—We are what we EAT! Let’s eat healthy and keep an active lifestyle.
