It’s been more than a month since Jasper and Darlene’s wedding, and until now, I can’t help but smile when I remember how everything turned out so magnificently. Don’t call me biased, but it was, quite frankly, one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever attended! The wedding theme was perfectly executed, the food was nothing short of spectacular, and everyone went home happy. Of course, as the beloved executive chef of Josiah’s Catering, my brother deserved no less than the best.
The couple and I had so much fun planning out all the details for their French wedding theme, and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I finally saw everything come to life. The three of us drew inspiration from the lively, vivid streets of Paris and the bright colors of the city’s famous macarons.
I must admit we went a little crazy with the lace! But it turned out spectacular and fit the French wedding theme perfectly. Almost everything was dressed in lace, from the bride’s and the entourage’s gowns, to the guests’ dining chairs and the glowing table centerpieces. Even the yellow fondant cake tower had pink lacy patterns on its sides.
The guests’ tables were decorated with two different centerpieces: some of them had tall white lacy cone lamps with gold rims and crystal trimmings, while the others had tiered porcelain plate stands, decorated with a variety of flowers. The wonderful pastel-colored hydrangeas, roses, tulips and peonies were provided and arranged by Mr. Teddy Manuel.
As promised, a miniature version of the Tour d’Eiffel towered over the cocktail area. For the grand buffet, we drew inspiration from French markets and built stalls for each section, with the help of Eve & Co.’s Beth and Meg.
Undeniably, the star of the show was Darlene’s spectacular Veluz gown. Patterned with French lace, crystals and beads, the bride’s dress glimmered softly in the light as her charming long ruffled skirt flowed smoothly from the waist down.
Overall, the wedding was a wonderful way to mark the beginning of an eternity of love, light and God-given happiness to be shared with this wonderful couple. I’m so happy for my brother, and so glad to have Darlene as part of our family!
Up next, I’ll tell you about the delicious French concoctions our team whipped up for Jasper and Darlene’s reception! Stay tuned.
