It’s official. August 4 will hold a special meaning for the Versoza family. It’s the day my brother, Chef Jasper Versoza, marries his lovely fiancé, Darlene.
Their story is an amusing tale. The two met at a bible study group four years ago. My brother Chef Jasper Versoza was eyeing Darlene from the start, and the moment she liked a quote he posted on Facebook, he immediately took it as an opportunity to get to know her more.
The quote went something like, “When the Lord closes a door, you have to follow his will and something will come in.” It is charming to note that their love began with God in their center, so it is only fitting to have God be a witness in making their love official.
And that is something I’m glad to be a part of. Here’s what makes it more exciting, my brother asked me to take care of the desserts for their wedding reception. Isn’t that great?
Now, because this event is something I hold so dear and near to my heart, you can all be assured that every dessert I will prepare for the reception will overflow with mouthwatering sweetness, to symbolize the love these two share—one that is sure to last a lifetime.
I’m also glad to announce that in the following days, we will be documenting every preparation involved in this blog, to give you, our readers, a glimpse of what it’s like for us to plan, organize, and execute a very special Josiah’s wedding—the Versoza-Pendon Nuptials.
From the venue to the photography, styling, and ultimately the dishes and desserts to be served during the reception, every part of the wedding will be covered.
Oh and as far as the details are involved, there are three things each guest can look forward to… flowers… macarons… and the Eiffel Tower. Stay tuned.
